Taken in September back in my home town of Port Macquarie. It took 18 years of living in Port Macquarie, 12 years of surfing the place, and another 10 years pf Photographing the break to finally end up in the water to shoot. This was on a heavy runout tide with the river full of rain water from the mountains. Swimming out I knew it was going to be hard to remain in position so I did one lap and was swept straight off the bank. I then grabbed my bodyboard and managed to sit just on the outside of the river and catch some wash waves to put me back into position. I still only lasted 30 minutes paddling agains the tide.
